My first photographic competition win (in 1983) was with a portrait and ever since I've enjoyed photographing people. Becoming a father of three children meant I inevitably started taking more photographs of babies and children, first of all my own, then my friends' and ultimately of my clients' children.
I really enjoy capturing those precious, and all too quickly lost, moments of pregnancy and childhood. It's great to see other parents and partners moved by images of their loved ones.
I use Nikon equipment for reliable image quality, but prefer to work on location with my clients, using natural light and reflectors wherever possible. I find a familiar environment better for simple, timeless images that avoid cliched poses and set studio lighting configurations. I often work with a black and white image in mind, though colour is also available - it's your choice!
For your peace of mind, as I work with children, I am Criminal Records Bureau cleared, Enhanced level. I am also a member of the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers and am insured with Photoguard.
